Christmas Day

Merry Christmas. Santa left you lots of fun things Christmas morning and Noni and Grandpa were there when you woke up too. Uncle Marc brought back a truck load of snow from Mt. Shasta and we had snowball fights and built a snowman. Grandma D put eyes made out of raspberries and a nose of cheese on Frosty. Nate I guess you got hungry with all that playing so you borrowed frosty nose for a bite.

Nate got a little over whelmed with all the presents and didn't want anyone to open anymore but he got past it. Andrew did great and once he opened Mac from Cars he didn't need another thing to play with.

Oh Christmas Tree oh Christmas tree

So here is the tree that we ended up with after our tree cutting adventures, a nice full flocked tree. The boys admired the tree from a distance for the first week but even without any ornaments s it was to tempting not to touch. By week two about 400 of the 1000 lights we had put on the tree lay in a pile on the floor in front of the tree. The only way to fix the lights were to remove them and untangle them so those lights stayed off the tree until Christmas eve. at this point the tree only had lights from the middle up so we thought we were safe if we left the room because you could not reach them. Boy we were wrong. while mommy was in the garage moving the stuff from one fridge to another you boys were busy inside admiring the tree from very close up. you managed to grab that strand of lights and pull until it wrapped around the trunk of the tree and the whole tree came down it was a sight when I walked into the room and your were each on one side of the tree unharmed and flocked. So I sent you to your room as I cleaned up the mess. I wish I got my camera out before I sent you away and picked up the tree but at the time that was the furest thing from my mind.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

Although today is your official Birthday, which by the way was very fun filled, we celebrated with family after Thanksgiving this year so all the family could attend. We had brunch and a cake made of rice crispy treats. The cake was suppose to be cars on a road it didn't turn out great but breakfast and the rice crispy treats were a hit.

Today daddy spoiled you with your first egg McMuffin and hash browns. In the afternoon we went with Nana and Grandpa to River View for a kids Christmas party. It was fun you made gingerbread houses, saw Santa and ate lots of candy. To top off the evening we went to get a Christmas tree with the Shoffners at a lot in town. Mommy and Daddy decide to give you one more treat and got you your own hot Chocolate. bad choice as it is 9:30 and you are still playing in your room. note to mommy and daddy no chocolate after lunch! Happy Birthday Boys we love you and you keep getting more fun every day.

Christmas Tree Cutting with the Beasley's

Today we started out at 9am well that was the goal . We were on a mission with the Beasley family to find the perfect Christmas tree. The kids were all outfitted in winter gear and the dog was in the back. we were pulling out of the drive and called Roxanne to let her know we were finally in the car. opps good thing we called because we forgot the permit. We meet at Starbucks and we were on the road by 9:30am not to bad. Last year we went to Mt. Shasta and didn't dare bring the kids this year we decide to check out Lassen and of course figured the kids were old enough. We found the perfect spot bundle up the kids and hiked into the woods well maybe a 100 yards let just say we could still see the cars and the kids were ready to turn back so Roxanne and I got the kids back to the car and spent our time keeping them entertained while the men went to find the perfect tree. Brian came back with a nice tall tree and the Beasley were done mission accomplished. Us on the other hand searched in circles while Roxanne & I continued to entertained the kids in the back of the car. Then Brian appeared with a nice 5 foot tree not that bad looking(ok maybe not that great either) but not what we were looking for( we were looking for a nice full tree that was about 7-8 feet tall so we could just do lights since the kids will be into it.) with no luck we decided to pack it and and drive to see what we could find we stopped once. almost thought we found but decided no go. Roxanne and Brian were on the yellow light in the car so it was time for them to hit it and we were done. The kids were asleep and we decided to leave without a Tree. This Christmas our tree outing is going to cost us a little more than we planned since we will be hitting the lot at home.
