Christmas Day

Merry Christmas. Santa left you lots of fun things Christmas morning and Noni and Grandpa were there when you woke up too. Uncle Marc brought back a truck load of snow from Mt. Shasta and we had snowball fights and built a snowman. Grandma D put eyes made out of raspberries and a nose of cheese on Frosty. Nate I guess you got hungry with all that playing so you borrowed frosty nose for a bite.

Downey Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas at Grandpa and Grandma D's it was our first of three Christmas this year. Auntie Kim ,Kristen,Auntie Sharon and Uncle Mike were all there to celebrate. Nate got a little over whelmed with all the presents and didn't want anyone to open anymore but he got past it. Andrew did great and once he opened Mac from Cars he didn't need another thing to play with.

Oh Christmas Tree oh Christmas tree

So here is the tree that we ended up with after our tree cutting adventures, a nice full flocked tree. The boys admired the tree from a distance for the first week but even without any ornaments s it was to tempting not to touch. By week two about 400 of the 1000 lights we had put on the tree lay in a pile on the floor in front of the tree. The only way to fix the lights were to remove them and untangle them so those lights stayed off the tree until Christmas eve. at this point the tree only had lights from the middle up so we thought we were safe if we left the room because you could not reach them. Boy we were wrong. while mommy was in the garage moving the stuff from one fridge to another you boys were busy inside admiring the tree from very close up. you managed to grab that strand of lights and pull until it wrapped around the trunk of the tree and the whole tree came down it was a sight when I walked into the room and your were each on one side of the tree unharmed and flocked. So I sent you to your room as I cleaned up the mess. I wish I got my camera out before I sent you away and picked up the tree but at the time that was the furest thing from my mind.

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

Although today is your official Birthday, which by the way was very fun filled, we celebrated with family after Thanksgiving this year so all the family could attend. We had brunch and a cake made of rice crispy treats. The cake was suppose to be cars on a road it didn't turn out great but breakfast and the rice crispy treats were a hit.

Today daddy spoiled you with your first egg McMuffin and hash browns. In the afternoon we went with Nana and Grandpa to River View for a kids Christmas party. It was fun you made gingerbread houses, saw Santa and ate lots of candy. To top off the evening we went to get a Christmas tree with the Shoffners at a lot in town. Mommy and Daddy decide to give you one more treat and got you your own hot Chocolate. bad choice as it is 9:30 and you are still playing in your room. note to mommy and daddy no chocolate after lunch! Happy Birthday Boys we love you and you keep getting more fun every day.

Christmas Tree Cutting with the Beasley's

Today we started out at 9am well that was the goal . We were on a mission with the Beasley family to find the perfect Christmas tree. The kids were all outfitted in winter gear and the dog was in the back. we were pulling out of the drive and called Roxanne to let her know we were finally in the car. opps good thing we called because we forgot the permit. We meet at Starbucks and we were on the road by 9:30am not to bad. Last year we went to Mt. Shasta and didn't dare bring the kids this year we decide to check out Lassen and of course figured the kids were old enough. We found the perfect spot bundle up the kids and hiked into the woods well maybe a 100 yards let just say we could still see the cars and the kids were ready to turn back so Roxanne and I got the kids back to the car and spent our time keeping them entertained while the men went to find the perfect tree. Brian came back with a nice tall tree and the Beasley were done mission accomplished. Us on the other hand searched in circles while Roxanne & I continued to entertained the kids in the back of the car. Then Brian appeared with a nice 5 foot tree not that bad looking(ok maybe not that great either) but not what we were looking for( we were looking for a nice full tree that was about 7-8 feet tall so we could just do lights since the kids will be into it.) with no luck we decided to pack it and and drive to see what we could find we stopped once. almost thought we found but decided no go. Roxanne and Brian were on the yellow light in the car so it was time for them to hit it and we were done. The kids were asleep and we decided to leave without a Tree. This Christmas our tree outing is going to cost us a little more than we planned since we will be hitting the lot at home.

Pink lips,Black eyes OH MY!

Well Nate I'm not sure how but as we were sitting at dinner the other night I noticed your eye turning black and blue and today yes you now have a black eye on your upper left eye and I have no idea how or when it happened.

Today I took you and your brother for your normal nap time drive down the street around the corner and back home again to put you in bed. You were the first to awake an hour later a little groggy you walked around and went into your play room. It was quite so I should have know when you came out with a little cup with five little pieces of pink chalk that you were up to no good. so here you are..
love the hot lips

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween my little Supermen! It is your second Halloween but your first trick or treating experience. We hope that you won't be to scared of all the creatures out tonight. Well we made it through Halloween we took you to at least 10 house and Drew you walked the whole time!! Nate you had to stop and sit at the door of everyone that gave you a piece of candy and try to eat it. you boys had a great time and by the first few houses you were knocking and saying trick or treat all on your own.
P.s. As you might notice you have gotten I believe your third haircut at Expert cuts the other day. Andrew, you didn't seem to mind getting your hair cut as you rode the motorcycle and watched Thomas the Train. Nate, you on the other hand wanted nothing to do with getting your hair cut. Mommy was full of hair and chocolate granola bar on her white shirt but in the end the hair cut lady and your parents won this round.

Andrews turn to Pee Pee in the potty

Still no pressure from Mom to potty train but Nate wanted to use the potty and Andrew decided he wanted to give it a try this time too. We had success on both potties! Yippee. Maybe this won't be as bad as I think it will...

Pee Pee in the potty

So I'm really not looking forward to teaching you boys how to Pee Pee in the potty. But since Nate kept taking his pants off I decided to start to prepare as you might have read in previous blogs. well I have not done much since then but Noni and Papa were here and decided to see if you wanted to try and it was a success. Nate went Pee Pee in the Potty three times in one day. I think you just like playing in the water after to wash your hands but if thats all the reward you need that can be managed.

someday we will get a picture of the three of you all looking at the camera.

Happy First Birthday Morgan

Today we celebrated Morgans 1st birthday at her Nana's house.(Auntie Jessica's mommy). As you can see Morgan enjoyed her cake. and you boys enjoyed all of her new toys.

The Great Pumpkin

It is that time of year again were we get to pick out lots of pretty pumpkins to put by the door. Our first trip to the Nash's pumpkin patch was with Noni, Papa, Grandma D and Papa and of course mommy and daddy. I say first trip because I can see at least two more in your future before Halloween arrives. I think that the next few trips we will not be taking any pumpkins home since we bought 8 this trip. More pumpkins than we will ever carve but they look very nice at the front door.

Sleep who needs sleep

Boys I just wanted to make note of what horrible sleepers you are in case for some ridiculous reason I forget to tell you when you are older. But really I don't think I will forget. Occasionally you will both sleep through the night, this is not very often once a week maybe but that doesn't mean that you are not up by 6am. Most nights however you are good sleepers for the first three hours and from there it is anyones guess.

the usually breakdown of the night is Andrew waking up once by midnight but going back down fairly easy I'm not quite sure what happens as most times you wake up screaming. so either you have fallen out of bed or sometimes you are wet. Once back down you wake up in the morning ready to go anywhere from 5:00 am 7:00am(oh those are good days).

Nathan you like to come into bed with us most days around 4am. learning that mommy is not a morning person you usually go over to daddy's side of the bed and ever so quietly say daddy until he wakes up and picks you up and puts you into bed. Being that it is already 4am you usually spend the rest of the night with us or should I say morning. There are nights however that you join us at midnight or so and those nights mommy tries to put you back in your own bed ...well most of the time. We even had one night with both of you in our bed and mommy and daddy almost fell off the bed and never slept so we won't be doing that anymore. I'm sure someday you will want to sleep maybe when it is time for you to go to school and you have to get up.

Fresh Breath

Today little guys you have managed to successfully work together to obtain Mommy's purse while she was in the bathroom. When I found you, Drew was on the cell phone and Nate was in Mommy's wallet. you both seem to also find the chocolate covered Altoids as yummy as mommy does but were nice enough to share with Siena. Unfortunately by the time I found you there were none left for me.

Bye Bye Binky

It is day two of the loss of your Binky's and you seem to be taking it better than I thought. Mommy was willing to give up after naps but then daddy came home to take over. Andrew you seem to be having a harder time with losing your Binky than your brother, of course you are not the one that ate through them so this makes sense. As I mentioned Naps were tough but you did sleep a couple of hours on and off. In the end you both ended up on the couch but you slept another hour.

Last night we put you to bed a half hour later in hopes that you would be so tired that you wouldn't miss your Binky's to much. This seems to have worked you did not have to much trouble falling asleep. Drew did need a little comfort from mommy before he would give in though.(our sweet sensitive baby) the good news is you slept through the night great. Mommy and Daddy took you to a kidz day thing at the convention center and then over to Turtle Bay lucky us you fell asleep on the way home and are napping soundly.

We have not addresses the potty issue with you yet but with the loss of Binky's we might put that on hold. one thing at a time is all mommy can take. Mommy and Daddy will be going to the beer and wine festival tonight so hopefully you will be sound asleep when we get home.

The Passing of the Binky

Today is a big day in your world. Nate has managed to bite through the last two binky's you had leaving us with no choice but to lay the Binky's to rest. This might be a long weekend....

September 10, 2007

Is it time to potty train?

Nate you seem to be the ring leader in the what your parents wish you never figured out category at this point. As you can see your diaper is on backwards to try to keep your diaper on but it is not working.

Summer

I noticed that I have covered all of our wonderful family vacations but have failed to mention what else we have been spending our summer doing. So as you will see it is all about keeping you guys busy.

Mondays Nana usually comes to keep you two company while mommy goes out to run errands or if she comes a different day we set up a play date with someone to get out of the house.

Tuesday we have been spending our time at mommy's friend Mandy's and your friends Marcello and Maddy, at their wonderful pool that they have opened up to you long with the rest of the twins groups mommy's and kids.

Wednesday we have twins group every other week and Grandma D comes to entertain you so that mommy can go buy food or just have a break, you boys are exhausting.

Thursday we get together with Max, Elle, and Brooklyn and their mommy Roxanne and take you for a nice long walk along the river trail and then play at the park or someones house.

Friday we have been meeting Thea and Luke and their mommy Bridget at Turtle Bay to play all morning and have lunch.

This picture was actually taken at Home Depot park. Guess mommy needs to bring her camera to Turtle Bay.

Mike our AT&T Guy

For anyone trying to call us from Sunday afternoon until Monday afternoon, no Mommy was not on the phone, some how we had no dial tone and for those trying to call got a busy signal. Mike from AT&T came out to help us figure out why we would not have a dial tone in our new house. He couldn't believe it was a line in the house but everything was clear on the outside so there were no other options. First he checked the two rooms that had phones (as I sat with you in your room trying to keep you out of his hair) and no problems there. As he walked by your room he asked me if there was a phone line in your room sure enough there was and that is where he found that someone had stuck something into the jack. oops was it the car keys we gave you the other day? yep it was. Your phone jack is now unhooked and unusable until..... well maybe forever. So 30 min and $55 later Mike was gone the phones were back on. If you had allowance this would be coming out of it or maybe we should not have given you the keys?

First night in your new beds

Well after our camping trip bed time seems to have gotten a little later so our first night back from camping and in your new beds we decided to wait until 8pm to put you down. Daddy laid with you for about 45min while you pulled the cushions off the chair, the books out of the book case, and all the clothes you could reach in the closet on the floor. Once that was done you were ready to settle down. Daddy left the room and you were out in about 5 minutes. Drew ended up in his bed and Nate ended up in the middle of the room laying on his back across the big white pillow. It was to dark for a picture so you will just have to image the scene with you in it. Mommy put Nate in bed and you were both good for the night. Whoa! not that bad maybe we are winning this one.

Nite Nite Boys

The door is in(thanks to Grandpa and Grandma D) and the beds are changed, now begins your life with freedom to roam....but only as far as the door.

1st Camping Trip

Camping in Tahoe
July14th-July17th, 2007

We surived your first camping trip and when I say "we" I mean your father and I. Marc, Jessica, Morgan, Noni and Papa were all there to help us make sure you came home in one piece and it did take an army to do that. Really though you guys had a great time non-stop from the second that you would wake up which was around 6:30am( first to rise in the whole campsite) and the time you went to bed which was not until the sun would go down athum 9:30. During the day you spent your time riding bikes down the hill on the campsite we were on,swimming in lake Tahoe, and of course playing in the dirt.
