Toothpaste

I'm back.... the last few months have only covered major events because I have not written and now I can't remember any funny stories that have happened in between so here is a look into today.

So I don't know. Do I just ignore you guys and and am a bad parent or did I just forget to lock the bedroom door. (yes in order for me to maintain my sanity we lock the guest room, master bedroom and bathroom. it really is just easier this way.)

This morning as I was in the other room I heard the dog barking which means one of two things someone walked by the house or you two are up to no good. Well today it was up to no good. I came out of the front room to find my bedroom door open and toothpaste on the dog. hum but yet I could find you no where so I called no one answered I went to the bathroom in the master bedroom to find the cap to the toothpaste but no toothpaste I called for you guys again and there you both were hiding on the floor under couch cushions Andrew with toothpaste and daddy's toothbrushes in hand and all over your face and hair. well it really wasn't that bad considering it was a new tube Thank God for the dog.

Although tonight daddy asked me why there was gum all over the master bathroom floor oops that's just toothpaste.

Fathers Day

GO AGGIES! We had a wonderful Fathers Day we got home from camping in the afternoon rested unpacked and headed to Grandpa Kendell's where Nana made us a wonderful dinner. For Fathers day the Boys sported daddy's alumni school UC Davis by giving him a visor and hats of their own to match. For Mothers Day we will be getting Chico State hats!

Camping with the Beasleys

We kicked off Fathers Day and summer with a Camping Trip at Lake Siskiyou (only an hour away in case we needed to come home) with one of our favorite Families The Beasley's. Yes that is what you see six kids all under five and four crazy adults with drinks in the cooler.

The trip was great no injuries,no bug bites and no lost kids. The first night bedtime wasn't even bad. Saturday we spent the day at the fish hatchery (special event kids fish freefound out that day from another camper in the bathroom). The kids slept in the car (the picture below-Castle Lake- was our drive to get the kids to sleep)on the way back to camp - power naps and then we spent the afternoon swimming at the beach.

The food was planned to the T Rox and I are both type A when it comes to that stuff. We didn't forget anything but my sweatshirt. oops. Good thing Brian brought an extra cause the nights were cool. The campsite was wonderful (by a bathroom and swings and a slide) and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

The kids shirts read MY PARENTS ARE EXHAUSTED and the backs are a map back to the campsite incase lost please return to campsite 164. The Dads shirts say My name is Daddy and the back is Superdad with pictures of the kids. (geeky but cute pictures)

Swim Lessons

It is summer and although Andrew just had tubes put in his ears it is swim lesson time. Our first lessons were at Riverview country club with Lindsey we had four lesson and came to realize neither boys trusted someone else to hold them in the water and Andrew had actually grown afraid of the water this year. Every day they got out of the pool a little earlier than when the lesson was actually over but at least they were in there. I have no pictures because I was in the water witht he boys but we are doing four more lessons with Lindsey in the middle of July and I will be sure to add pictures.

Our next lessons were with Reddings swimming lesson guru Phoebe who has taught many Redding swimmers and when she is done we hope that Nate will actually be able to swim under water. Notice I say Nate that is because we decided that it was to soon after Andrew's ear surgery to be dunking him under water and also due to the fear this year we didn't want to push it. Andrew will go in on his own terms usually after we have all been in and are done he asks to go swimming. The other reason and maybe the real reason Andrew is not in lessons is that Phoebe is known to cause a little terror and a lot of crying throughout her lessons and I just couldn't listen to Andrew screaming for Mommy. I know then why can I listen to Nate well Nate likes the water and will jump in and put his head under already so I know his tears are more out of anger because he is being forced to do something he doesn't want to.

Ear Tubes

Today was a big day we took Andrew in to get Ear Tubes. Poor little guy has had over ten ear infections in his little life time and one every month since the first of the year. This surgery is done in an outpatient facility and only takes a whooping 15 minutes if that but that didn't mean we didn't agonize for days over the fact that we would have to be put under but in the end we decided the reward outweighed the risk. and it has. Andrew is talking more although he was talking and I think his world has changed now that he can hear. He has had no side effects and we go for our one month check up on July 9th.

Writing on the wall

Nathan found the pens that mommy thought she had put in a good place. At least they were washable and Nate got a lesson in scrubbing walls. To bad he enjoyed that as much as he enjoyed writing on the walls. Guess that lessons back fired.
