Lets go for a Bike Ride

So this morning we got up and decided I would be fun to take our first family bike ride. Of course like most things with kids things things take a little longer than planned. And today took longer than we could have ever imagined.

Our attempt to go on a ride started at 9 am knowing of course that we had not been on our bikes since the kids came we knew we had a few things to fix aka tires. So by 10am we had located what we needed to fix the tires and the work began. By 11ish tires were fixed and lunch was made. Now to get everything in the car. Well we have a bike rack that goes on the car which again had not been used in three years so after we pulled it out and searched....... and searched.................... and searched for all the pieces we realized a trip to the store was in order.

Well the boys had been awake since 5:30am so by this time they needed a nap. I took them for a short drive they fell asleep and took a nap while Brian ran to the store.

Daddy got back at 1 and Nate woke up from his nap. We still didn't have the parts we needed so daddy went back to the store. Andrew woke up. Nathan, Andrew and Mommy ate a box of cheese its....Daddy is still gone. The boys decide to play outside there bikes of course are in the car so no bikes to ride in the front yard.

Brian gets home gets the bikes on he car and we are on the road at 3:30 we go to McConnell foundation which has great trails.. Get there see a big sign with all the Do's and Don'ts ...No bikes allowed. agh....Get back in the car wonder with his luck will the bikes stay on the car the way we rigged them? They do and we make it to the River trail bikes out and ready to go by 4pm. I have the lunch I made at 11 so now we have a dinner bike ride. We then finally enjoy our first wonderful family Bike Ride.

Bike Crash

Nate had his first good bike crash on the tennis courts at Alta Mesa park. This picture is right after it happened it didn't seem that bad and he handled it well but once it scabbed over it looked a lot worse and took awhile to heal.

New Beds

have been working on your beds for months trying to avoid making it a big investment but realizing that is what it is going to be Mommy found some great looking beds online with of course assembly required. So Grandma D & Grandpa helped us in the purchasing and Grandma and mommy did most of the assembly. The results Just like PB without the price tag.

Snow Day

Andrew, Ella, Daria, & Nathan on Russ Peterson's sled that he had kept from the 1970's
Noni & Anne trying to race down the hill. Yes that is Noni crashing.

We spent the day In Mt. Shasta in the snow with Noni, Papa and the Peterson/Kirby clan and had a ball.  We started out at Great Grandpa's for a little snow ball fights, snow angels, lunch and a place to get warm or go pee if we needed we then drove around the corner and found a great hill to sled where we stayed much longer than any of us thought the kids would last.
