Painting with pudding

Since today is a non school day and it is hot still here I needed to think of something fun to do with the boys this morning and then there it was a box of pudding sitting on my counter so I made some chocolate pudding put it in two bowls for the boys let it chill while we cleaned the house and then took it outside for a little fun. I have to admit this was not my idea I saw it on a TV show and have been wanting to do it and it was as fun as it looked.

Giraffe

Andrew 18 months with Giraffe

We had a very close call with our very loved giraffe this week. We had flu shots so I let the boys bring there blanket (Nate) and giraffe (Andrew) we brought them in for shots but I was sure I left with both of them. We then went to Turtle Bay where we let them in the car because I don't let them bring them with us outside of the car. I was pretty sure we had them when we returned home and came in side to rest before swim lessons. Swimming came quick and we were running out the door that night giraffe was no where to be found. I didn't think he ended up in the car from swimming but in the rush to get out the door I really had no idea. We do have a back up giraffe so that worked for the night but the more I searched the more I was really worried that it might be the end of giraffe. We have spent countless hours looking for blanket and giraffe who seem to hide all over the house and in the car when it is time for bed but we usually find them within the hour. Andrew took it well I think I was more stressed about it than he was.

Then Monday as I was coming into the house from the garage with groceries there it was in between the heater unit and the wall. I couldn't believe it! Andrew was napping so I washed it and when I woke him from his nap gave it to him. He was so excited he smiled and loved on him. I said he was gone for a long time and andrew held up his five fingers he was right I don't know how they really don't get time but he knew it had been five days since he had slept with giraffe. Giraffe and blanket are no longer aloud to leave the house.

First week of Preschool

Well we only made it through one week of school, which is only two days before we ended up with a cold. Actually, Nathan only made it one day and came home with his first case of poison oak. I don't have any idea where we got it but lucky only Nathan and I did. If I had to guess I would say the dog. Poor Nathan had it on his face, his right arm and right ankle and lower leg. The cold started with Nathan and I on Friday and Andrew was up all night on Saturday with the croup and Daddy was down and out by Sunday. So we laid low all weekend and stayed home from school on Tuesday. But were back and ready to go on Thursday. If its not even winter yet and we already have colds I wonder how many colds we will have and how much school we will be paying for and not attended stay tuned to find out...

First Day of Preschool

Today was the first day of Preschool. We had our lunches done and cloths picked out the night before in hopes of a smooth day. We had a nice breakfast with eggs and sausage and then ran into a snag when we couldn't find our shoes but we still made it in time. The Boys love their new school. They are going to Shasta College on Tuesdays & Thursday from 9am til 2pm.

Their routine starts by dropping off our lunch bags, finding their name and checking in. Then they go and wash their hands before they start to play. Once everyone has arrived they have circle time with teacher Wendy. On the first day they both got to feed the class pet fish. Andrew’s favorite part of the day was playing outside in the sand and Nathan said his favorite thing was feeding the fish. After school we enjoyed a frozen yogurt and fell asleep for the night by 6:30.

Back Gate

So it might sound mean but it is for pure safety reasons that we have many locks and chains around the house. We out grew child gates at about 2 years old(climbing had been perfected). These locks usually show up after the fact of something happening.

On this particular day the boys were playing in the back yard doing there thing and again I had just gotten out of the shower, I heard something going on by the gate on the side of the house so I leaned outside and called for them as the front door bell rang and I saw one of the kids running away. THEY WERE IN THE FRONT YARD! WHAT! Luckily they had just gotten there. So I got them back in the back yard closed the gate and ask them how they got out. Nate of course said " I used a stick and pushed the latch up and Andrew pulled the door open." Such nice team work. and that is how we now have a combination pad lock on the back gate.

Trash comes at our house on Fridays so on Thursday afternoon I put the trash in the front yard and left the lock hanging on the fence but did not lock it( really because I can't remember the combo) because I was going to move the trash back in the next morning and re-lock it so there was no need. Sure enough that afternoon no lock on the gate, but an upside down big five gallon
bucket next to the fence. Luckily they knew just where they put it and now it stays locked even on trash day.
