Basketball

We had our first introduction to Basketball through the Redding Parks in recreation Grasshopper sports. The boys played on saturdays for a few weeks with there friends Ellie, Max,Brooklyn, Nicholas, and Jett. All the grandparents stop by to watch too. Nathan seemed to enjoy basketball more than Andrew.

The Giraffe with nine lives

Andrew went to play at Grandma D's today so we packed giraffe to bring with us. By the time we got to the house the boys had fallen asleep and it was raining. I passed the blanket and giraffe over to Grandma while I carried Andrew in to lay him down. He woke up when I got him in the house, meanwhile Nathan woke up crying and Grandma was out at the car talking with him normal craziness happened. So I jumped in the car with few words to Grandma and drove off with Nathan. That night Andrew came home but giraffe was not with him. Grandma had never seen giraffe, Andrew said giraffe was by the TV, then he was by the computer, he really had no clue. I was beginning to doubt I left giraffe with them. So that brings us to Saturday, three nights without giraffe. Andrew was doing well actually friday night was the first night that he actually said "I really miss girafee". Brian took the boys to Turtle Bay and then stopped by Grandma's after. As he was driving down there street he noticed something in the gutter that looked like a pile of leaves but its winter, and has been raining for 10 days so there are no leaves on the trees, so he stopped and there he was "girafee". The Giraffe with 9 lives, so that leaves him with about 6 left. Hope he doesn't use them up before Andrew doesn't need him anymore.

Happy New Year 2010!

We spent a wonderful New Years Eve with the Heath family enjoying fondue, Champagne and a east coast New Years so that we could have the kids to bed at a decent time.

Christmas

Lots of wonderful christmas memories again this year. Eddie the Elf came to stay with us for the month of December. He is our elf from the North pole that stays with and reports back to Santa every night on whether we have been good or bad. On Christmas Eve Eddie goes back to the North Pole until next year.

Back Gate

So I wrote in August about the reason for the locked back gate. Now for the downside of a lock on every door. Getting in! The boys and I were on our way out so I opened the garage and they came out with me. I asked them to get in the car and ran next door to drop off a note. I was gone 1 min. really, no one was even home next door. As I approached the house I saw the garage going down. I went to the front door and rang the door bell numerous times as I yelled you better open the garage( they couldn't just open the front door because there is a chain across the top to keep them in). I couldn't just go through the back gate because there is a pad lock on it. The only way in was for them to let me in or try to climb the fence. Lucky for me they knew better and that garage came right up. Not sure how to remedy this problem for even if I had a key I couldn't have gotten in the front door.
